Carlo Dumerlin was a true humanitarian. As a devoted
husband, father, grandfather and United States Air Force Veteran, he understood
the power in helping others. Carlo always believed that his purpose in life was
to be of service to anyone in need. It gave him immense joy to help others.
Carlo came from a philanthropic family, his late father opened a tuition-free
elementary school named Don de Direlan Dumerlin in Port au-Prince, Haiti.
Carlo had a great love for children. He believed
that all children should be loved and supported. Carlo was the father of two,
but he treated all children he encountered as his own.
Carlo was also a devoted donor to St. Jude
Children’s Research Hospital and was dedicated to providing aid to the people
of Haiti.
In his memory, his children have created a
scholarship fund that will be awarded to a young person who strives to help
others and impact their community in a positive way.
